After we witnessed the triumphant accomplishments of the Olympics, we are all pumped up to make a splash in our soothing and invigorating saline system pool! Our pool is particularly healthy to the skin and immune system, and non-irritating to your swimming enjoyment. Swimming and water exercise are essential to a complete body, mind and overall well-being. Our program and pool community are as diverse as the Riverdale neighborhood, and we pride ourselves on being able to offer a swim program that is well-rounded and engaging: we truly have something for everyone!
Infant and Toddler Swimming
(6 mos-3 yrs)
Our goal is to teach you how to teach your child the joys of being safe in and around the water. One parent or caregiver must accompany each child per class. Swim diapers are required for all children 3 and younger.
Gurgling Guppies (6-12 mos)
We will safely introduce you and your gurgling guppy to the water through familiar songs and games. Classes focus on comfort, breath control, proper body holding positions while fostering strengthened parent/caregiver-child bonding.
Mighty Minnows (12-18 mos)
At this age, your mighty minnow is ready to explore everything in their environment as their curiosity begins to peak. Games, songs and basic swim movements will continue to help guide you and your child in and around the water.
Terrific Tadpoles (18-24 mos)
Your terrific tadpole is inching their way closer to better swim coordination, increased breath control and transitioning to more independence, all through fun swim related activities.
Leapin’ Leapfrogs (24-30 mos)
Your leapin’ leapfrog will continue to learn elementary swim strokes, independence and swim coordination in this engaging and fun swim class.
Flying Fish (30-36 mos)
This class of flying fish continues to work toward independence while exploring all the fundamentals of swimming with the aid of fun activities.
Preschool Swim: 3 and 4 year olds
Children learn through imaginative play, and this class for 3- and 4-year-olds is an ideal aquatics classroom! Self-propulsion, buoyancy, constant self-discovery and better coordination engage your dynamite dolphin to swim with their peers and instructor.

Afterschool Age Swimming (5-14 yrs)
Children will learn with and from their peers in these focused and fun swim classes. Classes are formed by similar swim abilities based on the American Red Cross Learn to Swim curriculum levels 1-5. Safety, self-propulsion, buoyancy and proper breath control are at the very core of every level.
Level 1: Introduction to water skills, comfort and water safety.
Level 2: Fundamental aquatic skills, focus on basic freestyle and backstroke.
Level 3: Stroke development, focus on rotary breathing, better body coordination and butterfly motion.
Level 4: Stroke improvement focus on front and back crawl, sidestroke, butterfly and breaststroke.
Level 5: Stroke refinement, focus on flip turns, front and back crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly.
Riverdale Rapids Swim Team
The Riverdale Rapids Swim Team is a focused and fun swim program designed to foster the talents of swimmers between the ages of 6 and 17 years old. The Rapids Swim Team competes locally in the Riverdale area as well as part of the Westchester-Fairfield Swim League. Through carefully-tailored coaching, strong encouragement and swim drill work, every swimmer’s skills are honed, efficient and strengthened. We are a tight-knit group of swimmers where self-discipline, good sportsmanship and teamwork are nurtured and supported. The Riverdale Rapids Swim Team swims with a strong passion, healthy minds and healthy bodies.
Lifeguard Certification Course
Participants 15 years and older can become certified American Red Cross lifeguards in a dynamic and rewarding job. This 35+ hour course will certify in lifeguard training, standard first aid, CPR for the professional rescuer, and AED administration.
Pre-requisites: participants must be at least 15 years old, proficient swimmers and pass a practical swimming test before being enrolled in the course.

Adult Swim Classes (18 yrs +)
Whether you are just taking your first swim stroke or you are looking to improve your stroke efficiency and stamina, our instructors are ready to help you take your swimming to the next level.
Private and semi-private swim lessons
For children (starting at 3 yrs old) and adults. These focused and specialized swim lessons are catered to each individual’s swim needs, either 1:1 (private lessons) or 2:1 (semi-private/buddy lessons). All swim levels and swim goals are expertly taught by our certified and dedicated staff.
30 minutes: R=$50; YM=$40

15 minutes (most suitable for preschool age):

It’s never too late to join a swim team! Regardless of swim level, hop in and work-out with your peers (adults 18 and older) under the guidance of one of our swim coaches.

Approach the Coach
A unique program designed for ALL of our pool members to help them swim better and feel better. A dedicated coach is available at set times to answer any and all swim-related questions. You can also receive helpful tips to enjoy your swimming and your pool membership, improve your technique, learn some new exercises, drills and workouts.
Aqua Aerobics for Seniors
Explore all the healthy, fun and life-enhancing benefits that the water can offer. These gentle impact aqua aerobic exercises and various core muscle stretches will tone, strengthen and energize you, and are especially catered to our senior swimmers.
Come join us in this Latin-inspired dance class — designed for in the water! These energizing and fun classes will help you safely lose weight, tone and strengthen your body, all set to exciting dance rhythms!
