Riverdale Y Senior Center offers opportunities to socialize, catch up with old friends, make more friends, and get involved in a new community. Membership is free for adults aged 60+. Register in-person Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. The Senior Center is funded by the New York City Department for the Aging and participant contributions.
Older adults can find nearly anything that interests them at the Riverdale Y. From special membership rates in our Fitness Center to film, theater, dance, music, and more in our Arts Department, the Y is filled with activity and enrichment for adults.
A freshly-prepared, hot Glatt Kosher lunch is served daily at 12:00 PM. Menus are planned by the agency's head chef and reviewed by a nutritionist. All menus provide one-third of the recommended daily allowance and are low in sodium and fat. Substitutes are available for those with dietary restrictions. Doors open at 11:45 AM. At 1:15 PM, Chaim Zadok will sing and play keyboards: Hebrew, Yiddish and popular American songs.
Programs and Special Events
These programs include trips, concerts, special events, and classes ranging from meditation to art classes. Try water aerobics or finally write that memoir. Lecture: So What Is Aromatherapy?
It is 100% pure, complete and natural essential oils. Utilized to restore or maintain physical and emotional well-being. Frequently used as a complementary and alternative medicine intervention, because it’s easy to use and relatively inexpensive. Negative side effects are rare. Ms. Ginat will discuss a variety of popular oils and their benefits. We will be able to experience each of them.

A licensed social worker is available at the Senior Center for you to meet with during the week, to help you with everyday concerns or subjects that are weighing on your mind. We are here for you.

We offer daily personalized door-to-door transportation to the Senior Center. Morning pickups begin at 8:30 AM. Afternoon departures are scheduled Monday through Friday at 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. There is an additional departure at 3:15 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The suggested contribution is $2.25 per ride. Call Toby, at (718) 548-8200, ext. 223 for information and registration.
