The Social Adult Day Program
The program's mission is to provide a welcoming setting with warm, friendly, well-trained staff and volunteers who support the functioning, safety, and dignity of each participant.
About The Program
The SADP is a special paid service to the more frail members of our community who need an extra bit of help and community. Designed for older adults with cognitive and physical limitations, the program enables participants to socialize and engage in diverse activities in a safe, nurturing environment. Activities include music, art, exercise, reminiscence and current events, holiday celebrations, and special events. A hot, kosher lunch is provided, along with morning and afternoon snacks.
Participants must meet two or more of the following:
- 60 years or older
- Memory loss or forgetfulness
- In need of supervision and assistance in order to perform activities of daily living due to physical frailty
- Social isolation
- Could benefit from a structured and professionally supervised program.
Caregivers receive much-needed respite, knowing their loved one is in a safe and stimulating environment.
Caregivers are always welcome to join the group activities. Information and support are available on an on-going basis.
Partially funded by the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Fund for Programs for the Aging of UJA-Federation of New York.
