The SilverSneakers® Fitness Program
This program is designed to improve and maintain the physical and mental health of Oxford Medicare Advantage℠, Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield members and Green Ribbon Health Plan. It reflects sensitivity to senior needs and abilities, promotes social interaction, and encourages participation in healthy lifestyle activities. Members receive:
• SilverSneakers® fitness classes at the Y
• A fitness facility membership
• Services of a Senior Advisor at the Y
• Social activities and health education
Any Medicare-eligible individual who has been identified as a member of Oxford Medicare Advantage℠, Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield, or Green Ribbon Health Plan is eligible to enroll.
SilverSneakers® I: Muscular Strength and Range of Movement*
Mon & Fri, 10:15 am–11:10 am
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Work with resistance tools and use a chair for seated/standing support.
SilverSneakers® II: Cardio Circuit*
Thurs, 10:15 am–11:10 am
(30 minutes of standing is required) Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance with a standing circuit workout. Alternate upper body strength work with tools with non-impact aerobic choreography. Use a chair for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises.
SilverSneakers®: Yoga Stretch*
Mon, 11:00 am–12:45 pm
Move through a series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support allows safe performance of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Breathing exercises and final relaxation reduce stress and promote mental clarity.

Self Defense for Seniors
Fridays, 10:30 am
Specially designed for older bodies. All levels, standing, seated and no experience necessary. Taught by Bruce McKenna, teacher and practitioner of the martial arts for over 40 years.
Fridays, 10:30 am
If you haven’t already tried it, now is a chance to work off those holiday inches -- in advance! Standing, seated, all levels and no experience necessary. Taught by Cornell Hammond with great music.
