Current Exhibit: Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity. This exhibit presents a revealing look at the role of fashion in the works of the impressionists and their contemporaries. We will see 80 major figure paintings, period costumes, accessories, photographs, and popular prints that highlight the vital relationship between art and fashion during the pivotal years from the mid 1860’s to the mid 1880’s when Paris emerged as the style capital of the world. Other current exhibits are available during the tour.
TRIP TO NEMOURS MANSION AND GARDEN

This will be a guided tour. Built by one of the Dupont family’s most renowned philanthropists, this beautifully-preserved French villa, which is a 300-acre country estate, is surrounded by magnificent French formal gardens and is located in Wilmington, Delaware. The mansion resembles a chateau and contains 105 rooms spread over five floors. Features rare French 18th century furniture throughout and contains an eclectic collection of notable antiques, works of art, and tapestries. Landscape Gardens: The design is patterned after the gardens of Versailles, and are beautifully landscaped with pools, fountains, plantings, and a pavilion surrounded by naturalized woodlands.
