After-School Programs
The Riverdale Y offers year-long after-school programs for children in grades K-6:
• Kids’Space - held at the Riverdale Y
• Y!Care - held at PS 24
Providing coverage throughout the school year, until 6:30 pm
Monday-Friday!
What is  ?
• A safe, supervised, enriching afterschool place for children in grades K-6 from our local community whose parents are not at home when school ends.
• Homework help with two certified teachers.
• Transportation from local schools included.
• The kindergarten unit will include activities such as art, cooking, free swim, story time, and gym time. All kindergarteners will participate in activities as a group, under the leadership of trained staff.
• Kindergarteners will have specialty instruction in gymnastics, karate, musical theater and art.
• Grades 1-6 choose three of the Y’s after school enrichment classes including Karate, Instructional Swim, Chess, Digital Photography, Creative Drama, Cooking, Dance, Musical Theater, Hands-on Science, Fine Arts, and more! Note: children enrolled for 5 days/week can choose FOUR classes!
• Recreational swim time in the Y’s indoor pool, now 2X/week!
• Supervised gym, art studio, and game time.
• Snack (kosher).
• Jewish cultural experiences.
• Daily independent reading time
Kids' Space runs until 6:30 pm and follows the Y calendar.
 Care at PS 24
Y! Care, a five day per week afterschool program based at P.S. 24 for the children of P.S. 24, meets Monday through Friday, dismissal at 6pm. Children will participate in a variety of structured group activities(including gym and playground time, arts & crafts and music) under the supervision of our highlyqualified staff. An opportunity to work on homework with a NYS certified teacher is provided. The program follows the public school calendar.

Riverdale Y After School Enrichment Classes at
PS 24
The Riverdale Y offers a wide variety of special enrichment classes for the children directly after school right at PS 24. The classes include art, sports, science, chess, drama and more. You do not need to be part of Y! Care to participate in the enrichment classes.
Courses will be announced via a flyer at PS 24 when school starts.
