Photographer Susan Richman has a solo exhibition on display at Gallery 18 March 31st through April 29th. The exhibition titled Urban Landscapes features works that reveal the beauty of urban, industrial and neglected environments to capture overlooked and often-dismissed details.
You are invited to our artist’s reception on Sunday, April 12th between 1:00 and 3:30pm.
“I'm interested in finding visual eloquence inherent in everything I encounter. My intention is to explore the connections between form, light, color and reflections to discover how those relationships interact to create engaging images,” Susan wrote in her artist statement. Her Pittsburgh roots have inspired her to seek out urban, industrial and neglected environments, to capture overlooked and often dismissed details. Having worked as a commercial photographer in NYC for many years, her artistic energy has now shifted to creating this very fulfilling personal work.
Susan is currently working at the International Center of Photography as a teaching assistant and is a member of the Upstream Gallery in Hastings On Hudson. She studied photography at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California and George Washington University, in Washington D.C.
