Beginning this fall, Lehman will be offering a series of new classes at the Riverdale Y. In addition to the Y classes, Lehman offers professional certificate programs in Bookkeeping and Accounting, Information Technology, Health Information Management (Medical Billing and Coding), Allied Health, Teacher Certification Exam Preparation, Childcare, Professional and Personal Development, and programs for mature adults, children and teens. Lehman College Continuing Education classes are taught by professionals and experts in their fields. Music, performing arts and art classes are taught by internationally renowned performing artists, like Rosemary George (singing) and working artists who have extensive teaching experience. Business classes are led by university level economic teachers and experienced financial advisors/analysts. Language classes and writing classes are taught by language specialists and experienced writers. Cooking classes are conducted by teachers trained at culinary institutes and with catering experience. The instructors have both the education, training, working and teaching experience to provide students with not only a sound theoretical background, but also a practical application of what they have learned.

Learn how to create beautiful works of art, as well as practical wearable art in this hands-on workshop teaching the basic skills to advanced crochet techniques. You will be able to make afghan blankets, scarves and hats using skills you learn in class. Open to students at all levels. Materials: worsted weight yarn and a G or H hook and a notebook/pen.
