As we gather to celebrate Black History Month, I want to remind us all of a fundamental truth: we may look different on the outside, but on the inside we are all the same. We all have hopes, dreams, and a desire to be treated with dignity and respect.

This month, we are excited to bring members of different backgrounds together for a meaningful experience that includes a kosher lunch. The focus of the event will be on creating a space for community to get to know each other, share their stories, and understand each other’s backgrounds.

In Jewish and many other traditions, we are taught to love our neighbor as ourselves. I hope that you will join me in creating a more inclusive and equitable community.
