Teen Girls Voting Workshop

For this most important election, please help Moving Traditions reach soon-to-be or newly registered teen voters to participate in our free, three-part workshop on making your vote count.

On the evenings of October 8, 15, and 22 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, we will explore the history of women’s suffrage; the logistics of voting and voter registration; how women’s rights relate to social, political, and economic issues; and choosing a candidate that represents your values.

I created this voting workshop series for my Moving Traditions Kol Koleinu Feminist Fellow social justice project. In Kol Koleinu this past year, I learned about how women suffragettes and civil rights activists fought against discrimination and systematic oppression to provide future generations with the vote—and the ability to make change in our own time.

Unfortunately, our country still struggles with voter suppression and disenfranchisement of black voters, other people of color and immigrants. Those of us who can vote, or are able to vote with relative ease, have a responsibility to fight for the changes we want to see.

If you have a teen in your life who may be interested in this free workshop, please ask them to register here. I welcome teens of all genders, political ideologies, and religions to join us on our mission to educate—one voter at a time.
