The Riverdale YM-YWHA is seeking an outgoing, responsible and detail oriented individual to work at our main reception desk.

This person will be responsible for delivering the highest quality customer service to all members and guests through professional greetings, account maintenance, and extensive knowledge of programs and services. They will proactively meet the needs of members and accurately answer questions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

● Greeting members in a friendly and professional manner

● Providing top notch customer service at all times, including during membership sales and related financial transactions

● Provide control of the building lobby including answering phones, directing visitors, and ensuring appropriate information is relayed to staff and members

● Assisting members, visitors and staff as necessary

● Taking in-person registrations

● Data entry and other computer work including MS Office and in-house membership program

● Any other assignments as assigned by supervisor


● High School Diploma or GED

● Minimum of six months customer service or receptionist experience

● Communication, and organizational skills

● Self-motivated

● Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to learn our membership software, Daxko

● Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks

● Thrives under pressure

● Knowledge in fitness programs is helpful

● Must be able to work occasional special events throughout the year, sometimes on Sundays

The ideal candidate:

● Has strong communication and listening skills

● Must be detail-oriented

● Adapts to changing work environments and maintains a good working relationship with co-workers, donors, members and activity participants

● Fluent in Spanish is preferred, but not necessary

Pay rate $15.00 per hour
