A Letter from our New Development Director

|

Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Rick Lund, and I’ve just joined the Riverdale Y as the Development Director. That’s a fancy title for someone who helps raise money for the Y to constantly improve our programs and services.

As you may know, the Riverdale Y is a not-for-profit organization. As all YM-YWHAs and JCCs do, we charge for membership and participation in our array of services and programs. However, our fees actually cover less than 70% of what it costs us to operate.

What many don’t know is that the Y could not exist without the special help of many donors who give us gifts in addition to their membership and participation fees.  These gifts are used to expand programming, ensure safety at the facility, and for all the special “extras” that the Y offers.

We know that times are difficult, and that money doesn’t grow on trees. But we also know that our members and visitors enjoy our facility, and they keep coming back. So to ensure that we can always meet your needs, we simply ask that you consider clicking the button that we have added to the end of our weekly emails, or the link in the header of our website, and donate whatever you can to our “Betterment” fund. Whether it’s a few dollars, a few hundred, or more, it will make a difference.

Please click that button every time you feel that you love the “Y”. It will remind us that everything we do here makes a difference and is appreciated by our members and friends.

Thanks in advance for your generosity. And, if you’re at the Y, feel free to stop by my office and say hello for a personal thank-you!
