We want to thank all who donated to our #GivingTuesday campaign. This was the first year we have participated in this global effort to raise money, and we’re very happy that so many of you donated to the Riverdale Y. At the bottom of this message is a list of all who have participated so far in our #GivingTuesday Campaign.
To date, we’ve received nearly $3,500 in donations from 58 people. It’s heartwarming to know that so many of you supported our efforts here. You know we want to offer the best Y experience possible. We make every effort to upgrade your Y whenever we can, and our recent improvements (the new all-access playground, the women’s restroom on the main floor, the pool resurfacing and environmental upgrades, and now the renovation of the C-level women’s changing room) all add up to a more pleasant, enjoyable experience here.
We’re not done. Over the course of the next year, you will continue to see improvements to our facility and our programs. This is only possible because our members, program participants, and friends continue to stay with us and support our efforts. Our revenue from operations only covers about 70% of the cost of operating the Y. We rely on foundation and government support for some of our work, but charitable donations from people like you help cover the remaining costs. Every little bit helps, and your donations make possible continued improvements in the facility and in our programs. So we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your faith in, and support of, your Riverdale Y.
