We want to thank all of our members who went above and beyond to generously support two very important fundraising campaigns that will help us meet members’ needs. The success of the ECC Scholarship Launch Party means that more kids will have access to quality early childhood education. The Swimmers for a Saline Solution obtained their goal, raising enough to replace the pool’s chlorine system with a state-of-the-art saline filtration system.
The Y wants to also recognize and thank three individuals who led the way when the Y needed this help. These three members became special volunteers to help us make the Riverdale Y a better place.
Tamar Dinowitz volunteered to head a campaign that would establish a designated fund for ECC scholarships to enable more families to be part of this special experience. After a few months of long hours and tireless work, the result was to create a new Scholarship Fund dedicated to the ECC.
Cyrilene Williams helped create the Swimmers for a Saline Solution Pool Campaign and stepped up immediately to write a check, engage her friends, and get the campaign off to a successful start. Within a month and a half, she raised and inspired donations of almost 20% of the total goal.
One of the Y’s Board members, Liliane Kates, made a large donation from the David Froehlich Memorial Fund to complete the Swimmers for a Saline Solution pool campaign in honor of her son, David (z’l) who passed away, but loved the pool and used it regularly when he was alive.
Our Riverdale Y family is indebted to these three volunteers, and many others, who generously donate to the Y to make it a better place. Thank you, Tamar, Cyrilene, and Liliane for your work on behalf of all of us at the Y!
