Story Prompt Sessions

Volunteers aged 10+ can book a session with an older adult, and through a series of prompts, get to know each other. These prompts can be found at JFest Story Machine.

Sessions are approximately 30 minutes throughout the day. Due to limited availability, you need RSVP for a specific time slot. Email Alexandra at if you are interested and she will let you know what times are available!

Intergenerational Lunch

Young adults age 14 to 16 are invited to have lunch with older adults with the intent of learning each other’s history and background. The lunch starts at 11:30am at the Riverdale Y. A brief chat with the Director of Volunteer Services is required, as this is a very special opportunity. Please email to reserve your spot.

We are focusing on environmentalism:

A shredding truck is coming to the Riverdale Y

As tax season is upon us, we are offering a safe and responsible way to get rid of our paper clutter.

Stop by the Y between 10 am and 1 pm to do some shredding
