On behalf of the board of the Riverdale Y, it is my pleasure to announce the selection of a new CEO. Deann Forman, who has served as CEO for the past eight years, has decided to step down to pursue a personal executive coaching business. Melissa Sigmond will take her place commencing on August 15th. It was not an easy task to fill the position held by Deann, who has provided such excellent leadership, and re-energized, both fiscally and programmatically, the Y during her tenure. She established the Y as “a place of convening” for both the Jewish as well as the wider Riverdale community. We are fortunate to have found someone who is well-equipped to manage the challenges of building upon the solid foundation established by Deann and her team.
Melissa comes to us with a strong record of success working in the Jewish not-for-profit philanthropic world. Most recently, she was Executive Director of Temple Beth Emeth of Ann Arbor. Originally from the New York area, she is looking forward to returning. Her professional experience demonstrates a successful history of fundraising, community building, and empowering, inspiring, and coaching her team to do their best work. She is known for strong collaborative relationships with staff and lay leaders alike. We know all our community partners will give her a warm welcome and continue to work with us as before; to strengthen the ties of the Riverdale community through our shared interests.
We look forward to continuing our work together building community!
Kind regards,
Peter Goldman,
President, Riverdale Y
