Just wanted to say that my mom wanted to express her gratitude for the wonderful meals that were sent to her while I was not able to cook for her due to being in quarantine in another location after traveling. …Once again I wanted to say thank you it is a beautiful thing that you were doing during this difficult time to help or seniors in the community.Cindy

A Beautiful Thing
In no way isolated
The session on ZOOM was very helpful and I look forward to participating in classes to be announced.
I am both amazed and grateful to the Riverdale Y and the Jewish community of Riverdale for the support they are giving during this critical time. While I am self isolating, I am in no way isolated.
Thank you and stay well.Betty Baumel
You lifted my spirit
I want to thank the Y team for offering online exercise classes. This morning I joined Jad’s class. Please let Jad know that I’m isolated in a little cabin in the Catskills and it was fun seeing her in my living room. As she suggested, I used a combination of household items and weights I brought up from the city. I so enjoyed connecting with her and knowing that other Y members had joined in as well. It gave me a sense of community and lifted my spirit. I cannot imagine how difficult it must be to conduct the class without seeing or hearing us. Please let Jad know that she did a great job – I worked up a sweat and I loved her sense of humor.Dawn
Answer to Prayer
When we took Herman home from the rehab center I was concerned about how we would manage. Meals seemed to be the biggest concern and family and friends urged me to shop for extra supplies. I really could not do it, caring for Herman took most of my time and energy. Then on Monday a young man with a big smile on his face appeared at the front door, bearing 2 hot meals!! Then he came back the next day and the next….I feel so blessed by your service to the community and especially that Herman and I are your list. You are an answer to prayer.Herman and Martha Covi
I just wanted to send a quick note to express my appreciation for how well you have handled the communication with the cast throughout this difficult window. What has struck me the most is that you have balanced the acknowledgement of the risks with the very clear message that every decision is made more difficult because what they are doing matters — this show matters — this community matters. It’s not something to be cast aside lightly. Whatever happens in the end with this show, please know how much I appreciate your dedication to the cast. Whatever happens, we are a strong community, and we will get through this together.Sarah S
Laurie—thank you for the leadership you are showing throughout this situation. You are modeling calm, cautious optimism for the kids, and I am sure they all notice it and absorb it. Whatever happens with the show, the kids are learning what it means to have a true mentor to guide you through life’s ups and downs. As a parent, I am so appreciative of that.Deborah
Little Corner of the World
While I am deeply saddened that things took such a turn for the worse, I am extremely proud and grateful to be a part of such a resilient and strong group of people willing to do anything to make this work! I am sure that this crisis will only bring us closer together and make our little corner of the world (and the time we spend there with each other) that much more special to us.Andrew
Thank you for your heartfelt emails. They always come across so tender and caring. – Cecilia
I thought I would let you know how positive and optimistic our cast is and there is a lot of love going around! -HillelCecilia & Hillel
We Appreciate You
Just wanted you to know how much you are appreciated for all that you are doing, together with others in your staff. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your care and concern during these difficult times. We are voluntarily quarantined at home due to our ages and pulmonary issues. We thank you also for your phone call. We miss the Y, the Senior Center, the activities, but mostly we miss people like you in our lives. May God bless you and keep you safe.Elizabeth and Jimmy
