End of summer programs for the weeks after summer camp ends and before school opens

August 12 – August 16

STEAM w/ Curious-on-the-Hudson

(Entering gr. 2 – 6)
Curious-on-Hudson offers a STEAM (science/tech/engineer/arts/maker) program on the campus of the College of Mt. St. Vincent in Riverdale with a maker space, computer lab and science lab, where campers will have an opportunity to try their hand at coding, woodworking, creative tech as well as lab experiments in the area of physics, chemistry, astronomy, engineering, life sciences, and environmental study.

Riverdale Y campers will spend each morning in a rotation of two activities between these areas plus one general group design activity. They will then end their day with a swim and other activities at the Riverdale Y.

In addition, STEAM Revolution will have a visit from a research scientist from the NASA Goddard Space Institute during the week of August 12. This will be an exciting week for STEAM!

Summer Dance Intensive

(Ages 8 – 14)
This dance intensive will have your dancer excited and inspired as they end the summer! The dancer will study several different dance styles, including Tap, Jazz, Modern, Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Musical Theater. They will also have opportunities to create their own choreography, watch videos of famous dancers, and play dance games! There will be a showcase at the end of the week for parents to see what the dancers have learned!

Competitive Swim Intensive

(Ages 8 – 14)
Swimmers who attend our camps achieve championship performance through a combination of mental, technical, and physical training. The goal is for our swimmers to master advanced competitive racing skills and stroke techniques. We offer low swimmer to coach ratio. Our coaches encourage a positive swim philosophy. Swimmers will focus on good sportsmanship and be a part of a team with many fun and exciting activities. *Rates: $550 General / $500 Member

August 19 – August 23

World Culture

(Entering gr. K – 1)
Grab your bags, pack your passport as our young campers travel around the globe and explore a variety of cultures through arts & crafts, sports, outdoor play, swim and more at our week-long camp created especially for our kindergarten and first graders.

Basketball Skills Camp

(Entering gr. K – 3), (Entering gr. 4 – 8)
Campers will spend the week learning fundamentals.  During this session, there will be a heavy emphasis on instruction and organized game play. Campers will participate in small group instruction, competitive full-court games, and analysis of real game situations taught by our elite basketball staff. They will be separated into three divisions by age.

Young Artists with Joy Langer

(Entering gr. 1 – 6)
Under the guidance of Joy Langer, locally acclaimed artist, campers will explore a variety of different artistic mediums – sculpture, painting, drawing, collage – all while developing their passion for art. Campers will also enjoy a trip to the museum.

August 26 – August 30

Art Exploration with Guest Artists

(Entering gr. K – 2), (Entering gr. 3 – 6)
Campers will be accompanied by local guest artist where they will be able to experience multiple forms of Media. These include photography, painting, ceramic, and more! They will also enjoy swim and a trip to the Bronx Zoo.

Soccer with Super Soccer Stars

(Entering gr. K – 2), (Entering gr. 3 – 6)
Campers with the guidance of Super Soccer Stars coaches will learn fundamental soccer skills in a non-competitive, educational setting. Their philosophy is to use soccer to nurture, build self-confidence, and develop teamwork through all of their classes. Campers will also be able to enjoy swim after a long day of skill building.
