Marisa Post

Dance Faculty

Marisa Post was born in Salisbury, MD, where she began her early ballet and contemporary training under the direction of Elena Manakhova-Amy and Christina Ennis at Salisbury Dance Academy and the Eastern Shore Ballet Theatre. She continued her studies at George Mason University’s School of Dance in Fairfax, VA. While at Mason, Marisa was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to perform in guest artist pieces including the works of Ulysses Dove, Mark Morris, and Camille A Brown. She was also involved in the creation of some faculty works, by Jim Lepore and Karen Reedy, and in countless student projects. In addition, Marisa choreographed two of her own pieces for the stage through Mason Dance Company, of which she was Co-President for her senior year. Marisa graduated with honors from the Honors College at GMU with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance. Since relocating to New York City, she has performed with Nathan Trice/RITUALS Dance Theater in his annual Recognizing Women Project, Harper Continuum Dance Theater, and a work by Patrick Coker, of Jessica Lang Dance, for the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble’s outdoor dance installation INKUBATE.
