Sunday Movies at the Y
The Riverdale Y is a place for people who truly love our community. From serving older adults lunch, to reading to the visually impaired; from participating in the Sunday Market to providing Sunday Movies, our volunteers open their hearts and put their capable hands to work in bringing our diverse community under one roof. Please join us in volunteering by checking out our calendar, or join us in participating in the programming created by our tireless volunteer corps.

A selfish postman and a reclusive toymaker form an unlikely friendship, delivering joy to a cold, dark town that desperately needs it. After the movie, let us also write letters of joy and gratitude to our loved ones.

Join us to find the meaning of community, friendship and family during the screening of Cars, a Pixar animation. After the screening, join us to dance on the stage and participate in the movie-related activity as we build new friendships.

Please join us as we explore the winter wonderland of Arendelle during the screening of Frozen. Frozen costumes are encouraged! After the show, stick around to make snowflakes, and celebrate our courage in doing different things.

Sunday, December 5: A Rugrats Hanukkah
This Sunday, December 5, celebrate Hanukkah with us and the Rugrats. Afterwards, learn about the holiday of light and make menorahs together. Our volunteers are looking forward to joining together for this hands-on experience.

This Sunday, November 28, join us in celebrating Thanksgiving by watching A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and making hand turkeys after the show. Our volunteers are excited to share the traditions of gratitude and learn how each family starts their holiday season.

Sunday, November 21: The Snail and the Whale
This Sunday, November 21, we are celebrating community and the way we come together to help each other. Please join us in watching The Snail and the Whale, a story about a tiny snail that goes on an amazing journey by hitching a ride on the tail of a huge humpback. This story is based on the picture book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. Following the showing, we will create our own ocean-themed art. Doors to the movie open at 10:00 am, and an activity follows the movie.

Sunday, November 14: Here We Are
This Sunday, November 14, in conjunction with the Riverdale Y’s Sunday Market, we are celebrating our planet during the Environmental Fair. Please join us in learning about our planet through watching Here We Are, a movie made specifically for Earth Day. Following the showing, we will meet outside the Y to plant daffodils. Doors open at 10:00 am, and the movie starts at 10:10 am. The movie will end at approximately 10:50 am. Gardening starts at 11am outside! Be prepared to have fun and get dirty, while taking care of our planet! We look forward to seeing you here with us!
